In juni 2007 was de opening van de eerste expositie waar ik aan heb meegedaan,
samen met mijn klasgenoten hebben we de eindexamenexpositie opgebouwd,
op de ArtEZ kunstacademie in Arnhem waar ik mijn diploma heb verdiend.
Op de expo heb ik schilder- en tekenwerk van mij laten zien.
Onze expositie trok de aandacht van de krant,
2 pagina's werden gevuld met foto's van ons werk samen met een begeleidend artikel.

In June 2007 was the opening from the first exhibition I took part of,
together with my classmates we build the Final Examination Show,
on the ArtEZ Arnhem Academy of Visual Arts where I got my diploma.
I've shown paintings and drawings.
Our show took the attention of the papers,
we filled 2 pages with illustrations of our work and got an accompinying article with it.

De tekening linksboven is een studie die ik heb gemaakt ter voorbereiding op het schilderij 'Leslie, met zonnebril',
het laat duidelijker zien waar de titel vandaan komt dan dat het schilderij zelf doet.
Oorspronkelijk was het plan om de zonnebril er bij te schilderen, later bleek dat overbodig te zijn,
toch heb ik de titel gelaten voor wat het is.
De foto rechts waar je mij kunt zien zitten is gemaakt door Marije Kuiper (fotograaf).

The drawing on the left is a study I made as a preparation for the painting 'Leslie, with sunglasses',
it shows more clearly then the painting itself where the title came from.
The original plan was to also paint the sunglasses, eventually it became clear that wasn't necessary,
but I didn't change the title.
